You just reminded me I ought to do more banners for custom_banners XDDD. And that I need to do banners for tenipuricon. And that I said I'd try to do clamp_visual's banner backlog. Oh god I suck D:. I really can't do #20 xD.
And I don't think I have a life off making icons. I have a life away from banners. When I don't make banners, I make icons. XD;;;
I agree with most of your points (Except, I think for banners, it's possible to achieve similar colouring without using exclusion layers XD. I can't ever get it right when I do :P). But I tend to prefer NOT to use the original image, where possible, since I personally prefer to have a banner that doesn't use it :/. The point of a banner is to complement an icon, not to make the icon impossible to find because it blends so well into the banner, in my opinion xD. So when an image-intergrated banner looks like an image itself, and you can't find the fucking icon, it's just like "D:!!!!"
